The Residences at Westervelt are named for Dr. Frederic Ballard Westervelt, Jr., a Charlottesville physician, educator, and pioneer in nephrology.

After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Westervelt spent nearly three decades at UVA, where he taught future physicians and helped develop some of the region's earliest dialysis and transplant-care programs.

He dedicated his life to medicine, his patients, his family, and his community.

Today, his name lives on through a new generation of Charlottesville homes.
